How Hostinger’s Discount and Renewal Pricing Works

Every plan on the site follows the same pattern. You pick a term length, get a steep discount on the headline monthly rate for that term, then renew at a higher standing rate once the term ends. Almost everything is paid upfront for the full term rather than billed month to month, and the “per month” figure on the page is just that upfront total divided by the number of months.

I ran an Unlimited Web Hosting plan through checkout to see this play out directly, and one detail is easy to miss if you are moving quickly. The period dropdown opens with 48 months pre-selected as the default, tagged “Best value,” while the shorter 1, 12, and 24-month terms sit underneath and have to be actively chosen instead.

The tax labelling is worth a second look too. The site footer states prices are listed without GST, but the checkout tooltip itself reads “Estimated VAT: 16%,” using VAT and GST interchangeably for the same line item. Either way, that percentage lands on top of whatever total you see before you reach the billing address step, and the final figure only locks in once you enter it.

I read the full Refund Policy behind that badge, and it tells a considerably more detailed story than the banner does.

A handful of products are excluded from any refund entirely: Domain Name Renewals, successful Domain Name Transfers, Privacy Protection, SEO Toolkit, Google Workspace Email, VPS License, Hostinger Horizons Top Up, and every paid support service.

Google Workspace deserves a direct flag here, since Hostinger resells it and prices it on the very same page as its own email products, sitting right under the same guarantee banner shown across the whole site.

If you buy it through Hostinger expecting the same money-back window as Business Email, you will not get one.

A separate group of products are refundable, but only under conditions the front-page badge never mentions.

The domain condition is the one I would want a reader to see before they buy, not after.

A long list of ccTLDs cannot be refunded under any circumstance, including .in, .uk, .us, .de, and dozens more.

Since .in is Hostinger’s flagship India-market domain, headlined at one rupee on the pricing page, it’s also the one most likely to get registered on impulse and least likely to be refundable once you change your mind.

This is the cluster of products most people land on first, and they are more tightly connected than the site’s navigation suggests. Web Hosting, the Agency tier, AI Builder, and Domains all feed into the same decision, so I am covering them together.

1. Web Hosting Plans and Prices

Hostinger’s consumer Web Hosting runs four tiers, all shown on a 48-month term by default.

Line up the renewal jump against the intro price and Single is the outlier I flagged at the top. It renews at roughly 4.2 times its discounted rate.

Premium sits closer to 3 times, and Unlimited and Cloud Startup both land around 2.6 times. The plan that looks like the obvious cheap starting point actually carries the harshest long-term cost curve of the four.

Resources scale in step with price too. Single gets 1 CPU core and 1GB RAM, up to Cloud Startup’s 4 cores and 4GB RAM. For anything beyond a personal blog or a brochure page, Premium’s 2GB RAM and 40 PHP workers is where I would personally start rather than Single.

2. Agency Hosting Plans and Prices

If you are hosting client work rather than a single project, Hostinger separates that use case into its own Agency line, priced on a 24-month term.

The discount here runs smaller than on consumer Web Hosting, 44 to 50% off rather than 64 to 83% off. In exchange, the renewal jump is far gentler too, sitting around 1.4 times the intro rate across all three tiers instead of the 2.6 to 4.2 times you get on the consumer side.

If you plan to run this account for years rather than chase a fresh discount cycle, the smaller headline number buys a much more predictable bill down the line. Every Agency tier also bundles full website isolation, an unbranded client dashboard, and per-site access sharing, none of which appear on the consumer feature list at all.

3. AI Builder Pricing

Here is something the site does not make obvious. AI Builder, sold as its own product with its own pricing page, is priced identically to three of the Web Hosting tiers above.

These are the exact same Premium, Unlimited, and Cloud Startup hosting plans, resold under an AI Builder heading with the credit allowance foregrounded instead of the storage number.

The Web Hosting comparison table even lists “AI Builder (5 credits)” as included on Single, but the dedicated AI Builder page does not offer Single as an option at all, which makes ₹149 a month the effective entry price if that is the page you are shopping from.

4. Domain Name Pricing and Refund Rules

Once your site or builder plan is sorted, a domain is usually the next line item, and the pricing pattern here should feel familiar by now.

It’s a rock-bottom first year, followed by a renewal rate that can run many times higher.

.net does not get the one-rupee treatment that .in, .com, and .org receive. It starts at ₹999, already close to two thirds of its own renewal price, making it the weakest first-year deal among the common extensions here.

The catch, though, is the one I already flagged at the top of this article, and it deserves repeating right where the price sits in front of you. .in domains sit on Hostinger’s ccTLD no-refund list, along with dozens of other country-code extensions. It’s the domain most likely to appeal to an Indian buyer, it is the one priced at one rupee to grab your attention, and it is the one you cannot walk back if you register the wrong name.

VPS Hosting Plans and Prices

VPS is where you land once shared hosting starts feeling cramped, whether that is traffic, custom software, or just wanting root access. Hostinger’s KVM-based line runs four tiers on AMD EPYC processors, priced on a 24-month term by default.

KVM 4 carries the steepest renewal jump of the four, at roughly 2.2 times its intro rate, against 1.5 to 2 times on the plans either side of it.

If you are choosing between KVM 4 and KVM 8 for something you intend to keep running long-term, run the renewal math rather than the intro price, since the gap between them narrows considerably once both plans settle at their standing rate.

I pushed a KVM 2 order through to the cart, and found something the product page does not connect for you. Every VPS plan already lists free weekly backups as a standard inclusion. At checkout, a separate Daily auto-backup addon appears, tagged Recommended, at ₹589 a month.

That addon is not duplicating something you already have. Weekly backups are free and included, daily backups are the paid upgrade, and the checkout page never spells out that distinction next to the addon itself. Confirm which frequency you actually need before ticking it.

VPS is also one of the few products actually covered by the standard 30-day guarantee, provided 180 days have passed since any previous VPS refund on your account.

Three separate products live under this umbrella, and each one prices and renews differently enough that picking the right one matters more than it looks like it should.

1. Business Email Plans and Prices

Hostinger’s own email hosting is priced per mailbox on a 48-month term.

Unlike Web Hosting, the renewal ratio here holds steady across all three tiers, at roughly 2.3 to 2.4 times the intro rate no matter which plan you pick.

Standard carries the Most Popular tag, and at ₹49 a month intro it adds unlimited AI-assisted search, reply, and summarise tools plus read receipts over Starter, before Premium layers a free domain and higher limits on top.

2. Google Workspace Pricing

This is where the first finding from the top of this article plays out in full. Hostinger resells Google Workspace on a 12-month term, and it is the one product on the entire site where the discounted price you sign up at is also the renewal price.

There is no separate step-up figure lurking a year out the way there is on Web Hosting or VPS. What you pay in year one is what you keep paying, at a flat 27 to 30% saving off list price for as long as you stay subscribed. That makes it the single most predictable renewal on this entire pricing site.

The trade-off is the one I flagged earlier too. Google Workspace Email sits on the non-refundable list in Hostinger’s own Refund Policy, with no 30-day window at all. You get honest long-term pricing in exchange for no safety net if you change your mind early.

3. Hostinger Reach Email Marketing Pricing

Reach breaks from the per-mailbox model entirely and prices by recipient count and monthly send volume instead. At the 0 to 500 recipient tier, with 3,500 emails a month included:

The 24-month term is billed once every two years rather than monthly, so ₹149 is a divided-down number rather than what actually hits your card on any given month. A free tier also exists, capped at 100 recipients a month with limited features, moving to ₹89 a month afterward.

Reach carries its own refund condition layered on top of the standard 30 days: you must not have previously used the free plan, except on the first paid renewal after one, and 180 days must have passed since any earlier Reach refund.

That 180-day cooldown is the same condition attached to VPS refunds above, which tells me it is a consistent anti-abuse rule Hostinger applies across unrelated product lines rather than a one-off restriction on any single product.

With hosting, domains, and email covered, there is one more category left, and it is the one most likely to trip you up simply because of how it is named.

Everything under Hostinger’s “AI agents & automation” heading looks like it belongs to a single product family. It does not. Two entirely separate products live here, with overlapping monthly prices and near-identical marketing language, which makes them easy to mix up at checkout.

AI Automation Apps: OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, and n8n

This is managed hosting for self-directed automation tools, connecting to messaging channels and over 1,000 integrations, with the infrastructure and security handled by Hostinger.

Hostinger Agent Pricing

This is a separate product entirely, a team of pre-built AI business agents for tasks like SEO, writing, and customer communication, billed on shorter terms.

Both sit under the same navigation tab, both use the phrase “AI agent” in their marketing, and both land in the ₹599 to ₹999 monthly range.

But AI Automation Apps is infrastructure you point at OpenClaw, Hermes, or n8n yourself, while Hostinger Agent is a hosted assistant with its own skill library and 1,000 monthly credits included. Check which page you are actually on before you check out, because the billing terms do not match between the two.

One detail on the PayPal option deserves a mention: it processes in US dollars rather than rupees, so factor in currency conversion if that is your preferred method.
